Robots lecture - Manchester University
In February a group of year 9 pupils braved the weather and visited Manchester University with Miss Boardman and Miss Prescott for an interactive lecture on Robots delivered by the brilliant Proffessor Danielle George. Students received an engaging lecture linking science and engineering to create their very own robot orchestra.
Some students controlled the robots to create music through drums or becoming part of the circuit to add percussion to the live performance played by several unique robots. This trip also gave students the opportunity to experience a lecture theatre and get a taste of what education might be like at university. This event was organised and sponsored by the Worsley Rotary Club and we were very grateful to be once again invited to experience their annual Excitement of Science Lecture.
