Tina In The Back - The Turnpike

What an amazing night it was on Tuesday 13th March when some fantastic bands performed at The Turnpike in Leigh. This was all planned, set up and organised by the Year 13 Music class. To start the night off past pupils Joe Walsh and Owen Murphy who are ‘Friend The Foe’ had been invited back to perform. They played a brilliant set, a mixture of some of their own original songs and some covers. It was great to have them back.

The Year 12 band ‘Distorted Reality’ then performed some great songs including ‘Radioactive' and ‘Bad Day’. Special thanks to Matthew Turton in Year 11 for performing as the drummer in the band at the last minute. After the fantastic support acts it was now time to hear Tina in The Back. The set started off brilliantly with "Dancing the moonlight" and then ended with "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". The performance was amazing and the audience were bouncing along to every track! The gig has been described by the Year 13’s as....

Nia "An experience I could have got from nowhere else"

Will " I had the best time"

Kerry " Best gig with the best people"

Gabby "So fun!"

Joe  " A great experience"

Well Done to all the acts who were involved. We were very proud of you.
