STEM Lego Challenge
On Monday 13th November a group of our year 9 students took part in a robotics workshop at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester. The group of students were mainly members of the STEM club and are all interested in STEM related careers.
First the students had a tour of the museum and all the fantastic robots that have evolved through the years. This was very inspirational for the students who were able to interact with the robots. The afternoon consisted of a LEGO Mindstorms robotics challenge. The pupils had to build their robots from scratch and then code the robot to make it complete a challenge.
The challenge was to make a robot that could travel between two locations without human contact. I’m pleased to say that the students managed to build two robots that both managed to complete the challenge. The pupils behaved impeccably throughout the day and I would like to thank the Museum of Science and Industry for a lovely day.
