The People’s History Museum
Students in Year 9 were invited on Friday 10th March to visit and work in partnership with The People’s History Museum in Manchester. The museum looks at the history of working class protest and equality. Students were invited by the curators of The People’s History Museum to ‘take over’ the museum and took part in a range of workshops and archive sessions. Students accessed the archives and examined original documents.
They had a tour of the gallery and took part in a workshop called ‘Never Going Underground: The Fight for LGBT+ Rights’. Students had an enjoyable day. The museum staff commented on the mature attitude of our year 9 students. Well done Year 9 – you are a credit to us.
