Dayne Weston attends McAuley House Assembly
On Wednesday we had Dayne Weston from Leigh Centurions join the McAuley House assembly. He came into St Mary's to speak about a charity that is dear to his heart called 'Ben's Wish'. The charity is raising funds for a local 10 year old boy called Ben Robinson from Leigh who has cerebral palsy and has recently been diagnosed with Leukaemia.
All the money raised will go to Ben and his family to help him on his journey to battle cancer. At St Mary's we had heard about this touching story and wanted to help. The House system has come together to raise money over the February term for Ben's wish. Pupils have created some great ideas to raise money and getting others involved by; Guessing the name of the teddy, chocolate raffle, book sale and sponsored read-a-thon. Dayne was amazed by the backing of our pupils and will be joining us again soon to collect the total money raised.
