Extra Curricular Activities

The school offers an exceptionally wide range of extra curricular activities and opportunities for all our students to excel.

In sport we have all the teams that you would expect and some that you would not that compete on a local, regional and national level. In addition to our school teams we have a fitness suite, trampoline, table tennis, golf to name but a few.

We have a well earned reputation for musical excellence in the Local Authority with a wide range of instrumental lessons, choirs and biannual concerts.  Each year the Creative and Expressive Arts Faculty organises a school production and concerts of the highest quality.

Students at St Mary's benefit from an enviable range of field trips and residential opportunities.  Each Year 7 pupil is welcomed with a St Mary's induction to support the transition process.  In the school year 2016-17 we have school trips planned to Barcelona and Madrid run by the Languages Department, an Iceland trip with Geography, a London theatre weekend for Year 8, a Chaplaincy & Geography trip to Brazil, a Business Studies trip to New York, an RE trip to Poland & countless other day and subject led trips.  We are active participants in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme and were presented with the Gold Award at Buckingham Palace in May 2016.
