Social Studies Curriculum

Curriculum Overview

Learning Programmes

Our qualifications offer an engaging and effective introduction to Social Studies subjects which will appeal to a cross-section of students, regardless of whether they have studied these subjects before. Students will learn the fundamentals of the subjects and develop skills valued by Higher Education (HE) and employers, including critical analysis, independent thinking and research.

Our assessments employ a variety of familiar types of question such as multiple choice,
short answer and extended writing/essays, which target the skills of knowledge and understanding,
application and evaluation.

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) has proved to be popular with students and teachers alike. It provides an opportunity for students to extend their abilities beyond the A-level syllabus, stand out and prepare for university or their future career. It can also be used to earn extra UCAS points.

The Curriculum Overview for each course can be found in the subject tabs.
