“Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example to those in faith, love and purity.” 1 Timothy
St Mary’s Chaplaincy team consists of one full time Lay Chaplain, Sarah, and one part-time Chaplain in Brother John.
Chaplaincy at St Mary’s helps encourage everyone with a more spiritual and moral development as a Catholic community.
Chaplaincy provides every pupil with an hour of liturgy and worship once a week, giving the pupils a chance to explore their faith through reflections, games, videos and mass. This is supported by the four priests of the school; Fr Dave Heywood, Fr Paul Seddon, Fr Kieran O’Grady and Fr Colin Fealey.
There are many opportunities to work with the Chaplaincy team, such as the IMPACT group, allowing pupils to come together with other young people of different ages, Operation Christmas Child, Christmas and Easter Assemblies, Charity fund raising, the Connect2 Brazil project in partnership with Cafod and the established link with the Archdiocese of Liverpool leading to opportunities with Animate Youth Ministries and the Liverpool to Lourdes Pilgrimage.
