Entry into Sixth Form College
Each year up to 200 students are admitted into Year 12 at the age of 16, up to 30 of which may be external candidates.
Places are allocated on the basis of academic suitability for the selected curriculum pathway using criteria that will be published annually in the Sixth Form Prospectus.
In the case of over-subscription priority will be given to Looked After Children (children who are in the care of the L.A. or have previously been in the care of the L.A.) with precedence being given to Catholic then other than Catholic, and students progressing from St Mary’s Catholic High School.
Sixth Form Entry requirements:

Our course entry requirements provide a guide to which level of course is the most appropriate and the qualifications students need to enrol for each level of study.
Level 2
This one year programme is designed for students who require an alternative pathway to Level 3 courses. You will study BTEC ICT, Science, Work skills and GCSE Maths and English.
Vocational
Level 3
The majority of the assessment of Vocational courses are coursework based. Vocational courses are equivalent in value to A Level courses and recognised as such by universities and employers.
You will need a minimum of 5 grade 4 or above GCSEs including Maths or English.
A Level
A Level courses are predominately theoretical and exam based.
You will need a minimum of 4 grade 6 or above GCSEs and 2 grade 4 or above GCSEs including Maths or English.
