The Archbishop of San Salvador, martyred for speaking out for the rights, dignity, and freedoms of his people against a military dictatorship. His transformation from quiet pastor to one of the greatest human rights defenders the 20th Century has inspired campaigners and followers of Jesus to stand up for human dignity regardless of the cost.

Our Romero mural captures the voices of protest Romero inspired. On the left the flag of El Salvador (his home country) and on the right a protest sign with the word “Si me matan” (his famous proclamation “If they kill me I will rise again in the Salvadorean people”.)
