Born in Sudan, kidnapped and sold into slavery. Josephine Bakhita’s life was changed when she found the Canossian Sisters in Italy who sheltered her and helped her gain her freedom. She became a Sister, and spent her life teaching and caring for others, repaying all she suffered with joy and love. She is the Patron Saint against modern slavery and human trafficking, and now the patron of our Bakhita form group.
