A Guide to MCAS (App)

To download the MyChildAtSchool Parent App search for MCAS Parent App on your mobile phone via your app store or use one of the links below:

 Download iOS App (Apple)

 Download Android App (Play Store)

 

Once downloaded the MyChildatSchool App icon will appear on your phone’s Home Screen:

Tap the icon to open the app and, if asked, allow notifications – this will allow the school to send instant notifications to your phone when a new message has been sent.

You will then be asked to create a 5-digit PIN and complete the setup by confirming your biometric authentication settings (if applicable to your phone).

Enter the email address you have registered with the school and the password you set via your welcome email. Finally, tap the Add button.

Getting around the App

A toolbar is permanently displayed at the bottom of the app and all navigation is performed using the toolbar icons, the components of which are described below:

Simply tap an icon to open the feature. To navigate from one feature to another simply tap on the required toolbar icon. A brief description of the functionality of each is described below


My Child Dashboard

On first load of the app, you will see the My Child Dashboard, this can also be accessed at any time by tapping on My Child in the bottom toolbar. 

The dashboard contains the following features:

  • Settings button – Account Settings, Privacy and Security, Financial Payment Methods, Financial Order History, and School Contact Information.
  • Student account dropdown – switch to another student account.
  • Weekly calendar with Attendance information by day.
  • Access to the modules (e.g., Behaviour, Dinner, Timetable).  


My Child Dashboard - Settings

Clicking on the Settings cog, users will be able to access the following screen:

  • Account Settings – change profile and log in to another account.
  • Privacy and Security – change Pin and Password.
  • Financial Payment Methods.
  • Financial Order History - order transactions.

My Child Dashboard - Calendar 

Clicking on a date in the calendar, users can see the student’s Attendance information by day. Clicking on the arrows will display the previous or next day.

 

My Child Dashboard - Modules

Scroll down in the My Child dashboard to see the different modules available to the parents.

My Child Dashboard - Switch to another Student

  1. On the My Child dashboard, click on the dropdown arrow next to the student’s name.
  2. Select the student account you would like to switch to.

Note: If you select Change Profile - this will take you to the My Child > Settings > Account Settings screen where you can change Profiles.

Dinner Money

From the My Child screen, click on Dinner. within the Dinner module click on Add Dinner Money enter an amount and click Add to Basket, you will automatically be taken to your Shopping Basket. Click on Checkout, complete your payment information, if you have Android Pay or Apple Pay setup you can make payment via these services. 

If you have multiple students, you will need to switch student at the top of the My Child screen to top up additional accounts.
